This was an AMAZING audiobook!!!! Multiple fantastic narrators! It had me walking from my car into my building with my phone pressed to my ear!!
The synopsis sounds so juvenile, and the story itself and writing definitely began with a borderline "absurd" feel. However, the author constructed the book in a way that made me unable to stop listening to the story unfold. The book is told in first person and alternates viewpoints in each chapter. There are several plot twists that keep the reader's attention. The main character is a psychopath that the reader semi-likes due to the fact that she continuously tries to justify her actions throughout the novel.

Demi Gods in Disney
I love Disney as a whole Little Mermaid and Beauty and beast are my favorites. I also love mythology so soon as I heard demi god I was this is going to be a much watch film. However whilst I think the plot to this Disney film was possibly one of the best and the side kick where adorable. For me the music let it down normally I leave with song stuck in my head for days the first time I watched this I came out not remembering a single song. :'(
The grandmother in this film was great I loved the line "I'm the village crazy person "

Haley Mathiot (9 KP) rated Staring Into the Sun in Books

Staring Into the Sun is a collection of poems that focus on love. Some of them were really sweet and cute, but others were hard to figure out. It's written so that the first line is one speaker, and the second line is the second speaker, but you're not really sure which is which until about the middle of the poem. At one point, it got confusing, and I wasn't sure if the person in the poem was straight or gay, and it threw me. I liked the poems, though. They felt like casual dialogue sometimes, and other times more intense confession. Staring Into the Sun is a light fast read (there's only about 40 pages).

Bookish boyfriend's is a book for any starry eyed reader. Let's be honest at some point in time every reader has thought "boys(or girls) are better in books". Or found ourselves imagining what it would be like to be the other person in the book getting a relationship with said amazing character. Well this book brings it to life.
Merri gets to live her dream of book boyfriend's and finds out maybe we need to look deeper than just a first glance/dream idea.
I absolutely adored this book, the character, the references, and that it wasn't just cut and dry predictable. I sincerely hope the author gives us a glimpse into another characters story in the future!

A different type of action film
A very interesting idea a film using real Navy Seal's doing action scenes that are like the missions they have done! The action is very good, interesting to know it is authentic, the tactics used and even the methods used to get around the globe in in and out of mission zones. The real problem is the acting, pretty terrible and the plot is very thin, it didn't feel like a film at times, more like a training video. As others have commented as well it does have that Call of Duty feel to it as well in the first person perspective scenes.....so a film that generation of fans will enjoy.

Incredibles 2: Groundhog day
Contains spoilers, click to show
Starting right from where the 1st movie left off, the incredibles quickly defeat the underminer and superheroes are cool again, or at least, welcome again)
With mrs incredible missing the superhero excitement, she its contacted by a mysterious person offering new adventures.
Bob is now a stay at home dad, whilst dash and violet continue to attend school....
Things quickly change when the mysterious client who hired mrs incredible is revealed as the evil genius....
To save a little time, this is the exact same plot at the first one, with mrs incredible in the driver's seat this Time around.
Same graphics, darker tone but with the fun bonus of the father/super baby shenanigans.

I actually downloaded this as part of Apples iTunes 12 days the year before last (2010), but only got round to reading it recently when I saw the trailer for the movie, and realized it was still outstanding. I'm going to sum up my impression in 5 words: "I wish I hadn't bothered".
The reason for that is not so much in the style of writing (first person, flows well enough) but simply that nothing seems to happen for the entire book - it never gripped me; never made me want to read just another chapter to see what would happen next. In short, I found it to be lacking any kind of grip at all.

David McK (3425 KP) rated Zootopia (2016) in Movies

Known as Zootropolis in the UK, this Disney animation is set in a world where talking animals have evolved and live in peace and harmony, with the city of Zootroplis the New York (or London) of that world.
While they may have evolved, most animals still fall into several roles: the police (or security) forces, for instance, are nearly entirely composed of predators, with this film following the ZPD's first Bunny recruit as she attempts to solve a mystery around a missing person (animal) case, and ends up teaming up with a street smart, wise talking fox.
With an underlying theme of racism, the message, in short, is that anyone can be anything they want to be!
