Serviceable action flick with an all star cast before they each BLEW up and came into their own as lead actors and actresses.

Decent, if not completely predictable, story that follows an elite military unit that is essentially blackballed (and noted as deceased) by the unit for defying direct orders in an effort to protect a group of innocent children being used as pawns.

As you can imagine, they're pretty upset about that. The movie follows their pursuit of revenge on those who've wronged them and clearing their names. A few twists later, we arrive at the assumed foregone conclusion.

Shes so cute tho...
387. Little Monsters. Nope it's not a remake of the Fred Savage 80s flick. Instead this is the 'Life Is Beautiful' for the zombie genre. And it was pretty sweet! We meet Dave, a down on his luck musician, broke up with the girl, band broke up, has to live with his sister and her young son. (Dave reminded me of a Andy Dwyer type, Park n Rec fans? Anyone, anyone?) To pull his weight around his sisters house, he takes his nephew, Felix, to school, and there he meets and is instantly infatuated with Felix's teacher Miss Caroline, with reason, she's played by Lupita Nyong'o!! One thing leads to another and Dave finds himself as a chaperone for the next field trip to the local zoo, which just happens to be next to a military research facility, which so happens to be suffering from a zombie outbreak at the time. As you may have guessed these zombies find their way to the zoo, and yep hell breaks loose. However, the kiddos are completely oblivious to this thanks to Miss Caroline convincing them its all just a game! It was a very well done comedy zombie flick. Rounding out the cast is Josh Gad playing a kids tv show host, he is great! Worth the watch!! Filmbufftim on FB

Could You Cheat Death?
The Man Who Could Cheat Death- is a decent sci-fi horror flick.

The plot: Turn-of-the-century authorities search for a killer who surgically removes his victims' thyroid glands and implants them in himself to maintain his youth.

The lead role of Bonnet was originally offered to Peter Cushing, who turned it down six days before shooting started. Cushing's reason was that he was completely exhausted 'following the shooting of The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959), which had just wrapped up'. The loss of Cushing caused Hammer to threaten legal action against him. However, Cushing had not signed a final contract with Hammer, and nothing could be done, although an angry Paramount, which was partly financing and distributing the film, 'relegated to picture to the lower half of double bills in the States'.

The Man Who Could Cheat Death was granted an X-certificate by the BBFC on 8 April 1959. The X-cert meant that the film could only be exhibited to people age 16 or older. The film was cut in order to get the certificate, which allowed it to be shown in the UK, but the details of what or how much was cut are unknown.

Like i said its a decent sci-fi horror flick about a madman scitentist.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

Has it's moments
The movie has its moments of comedy and drama. Siegel plays a love struck music sound layer for his girlfriend Bell (Sarah Marshall) when she up and dumps him for a wild and crazy rick singer played by Russel Brand. After some advice he decides to take a long vacation to a Hawaiian resort only to find out that is ehre his ex and new beau are staying and has to make the best of it. Lots of great cameos in this film and a great idea for a musical. I feel that it could have been a little better but, still a good flick

An action flick with a brain
Affleck shines here, portraying an autistic badass respectfully and there definitely is an appropriate sense of dread present throughout the runtime of the movie. The supporting cast is also fantastic, Jon Lithgow and JK Simmons are as brilliant as you have come to expect them to be, but it is actually Jon Bernthal that steals every scene he is in. As expected Anna Kendrick adds a level of comic relief to the movie and she works well in contrast to Affleck’s more serious role. The writing and direction are solid and the score adds a lot to the film too.

The Avengers (2012)

Avengers Assembled is a film filled with amazing performances, great special effects and fantastic direction from long-time comic-book fan, Joss Whedon. He manages to craft a great film and considering the size of the cast, that’s no easy feat.

It lets itself down throughout the finale in which the audience is subjected to a Transformers-style alien invasion across New York City that could have been lifted straight out of any Michael Bay-directed flick. A great end to Phase One of the MCU, but not the classic everyone remembers it being.

The best fight choreography since The Raid: Redemption
A surprisingly touching story, much deeper than: Man's dog gets killed.
John Wick was a surprise hit for me. I got the amazing action I expected and wanted, but the heart behind the story surprised me. I was expecting a simple revenge flick, what I got was a movie about a man releasing his anger at the life that had been taken away from him too soon (his wife's) in a way that gave sympathy for his plight (the death of his puppy). Remarkably touching between all the violence, this movie is a cant miss.
