Lena Garza has a secret. Five years ago she had the best sex of her life with a stranger. That night turned into two blissful weeks where it felt as though their passion would never end.Until Graham walked away without a backward glance. Now, Lena finds herself uprooting and moving a state away to confront Graham, unsure how he will react when she confesses a heartbreaking truth she's not sure he will accept.Facing him will be the most difficult thing she's ever done, and could prove to be the biggest mistake of her life. After all she's betting a whole hell of a lot on the man he used to be
I was in two minds about reading this book I just wasn’t feeling it from the synopsis. But I’m so glad I did as I really enjoyed it! The whole story and way it was written was so emotionally charged.
The characters and story were so easy to read and fall in love with!
Think I need myself a lumberjack.

Two books in one, where do I sign up?
I love stories that go back and forth between past (in this case 1916) and present day. There are few authors who can pull off writing a duel story line well, however, I have found two author who did one together! They did a fantastic job. I think that the author’s expressed both sets of characters accurately and I really felt involved in their lives by the end of the book. I was sad to see it end. My favorite part though was probably the premise. Too often I think we chose to live in a made-up world rather than being thankful for the one we have. I am guilty of that myself. I believe that the authors did justice to this problem and summed it up in an understandable way. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars for the duel story line that was unique and interesting, the great premise, and the amazing characters.

This is my latest book club read. I read the blurb and on first thoughts, loved the idea of this book. It sounded exactly my cup of tea. Then after a few chapters, the writing style was bugging me, i wasnt sure if this book was for after all. I found it so hard to connect with the characters because of how distanced I felt due to the style of writing...
Then about a quarter of the way through something clicked and I could not put this book down. I absolutely loved it every opportunity I got I found myself reading it
I love the characters of Bridie and Ruby and the relationship that develops between them. Every character that is introduced seems to have some importance in the story. And the story itself with all its twists and turns is a masterpiece.
I definitely want to read more by Jess Kidd, shes one of the best authors I've read for a long time. #jesskidd #thingsinjars #victoriannovel #anatonomy #detective #bridiedevine

My Safe Haven is the 12th and final book in the Lyrics of Love series and finally, FINALLY, Jace finds his girl. Unfortunately for him, Jenna is a bit more skittish about being with him than he would like but she does have her reasons. Reasons which come out with time throughout the book and are heart-breaking.
This was a great story with a gentle, hot, and supportive main male and a feisty but slightly broken main female. I loved how Jace didn't rush her in any way and let her make her own mind up. She is running for good reasons but will she learn to run to Jace?
This was a great finale to the series, with plenty of cameos from previous couples. A feel-good story to end on which I have no hesitation in recommending.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

He's a rich bad boy. She's a damaged beauty. Same old story?
Not even close.
Because he's not just gorgeous, he's deadly. He lures women into his deceptive web and tortures them into submission, LOVES them to death, and won't stop until they've fallen for their captor. Won't stop until they've loved him with their last breath.
But this time, he's taken the wrong girl. This time, it could be him who's captured instead, his heart chained by an astonishingly well-matched vixen.
Ok! Ok ok this was one hell of a book. So many times I’ve thought wtf! But I just couldn’t stop reading. It’s far, twisted and oddly sexy as hell! Maybe I need help? This is a new author for me and I read her words about writing dark erotica but I wasn’t expecting to love the story behind all the sex too! I’m genuinely shocked as wasn’t expecting that at all!!

Lenard (726 KP) rated Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019) in Movies

First, I confess I had no interest in Pokemon, the cards, the games, the plush toys, or anything related to the Pocket Monsters and Gotta Catch Em All Fever. I thought Bulbasaur was a Squirtle and Cubone was a member of the Mewtwo phenomenon. However, unlike the animated film, I was slightly impressed by the live action/animated hybrid. While the central mystery Detective Pikachu is on the trail of is a red herring, the story is heartwarming and almost made me miss my dad. Tim, after his mom died, spends a lot of time alone and dreams of being a Pokemon trainer, but as we see his emotionlessness inhibits his ability to connect to the little monsters. HIs dad, a world famous detective, tries to connect with him, but he is a constantly absent presence in his life. When Harry is reported dead from a car accident, Tim comes to Ryme City and meets Harry's Pokemon Pikachu who believes Harry didn't die. The true story is very incisive about the lengths we go to protect the things and people we love.
