But then, a blood-soaked cat, seemingly the only witness to a mystifying murder, needs a foster mom, and honestly, how could she say no? Okay, so the series of locked room murders had piqued her curiosity, and the local cat lady seemed to be in trouble, and, well, it just wouldn’t be right to head home before doing a little shopping and sightseeing. Right?The wonderful characters that flavor this series are back, with some more really great ones added in for the new location. I would love aunt Cait to make another appearance in future tales. Lovely kitties roam the pages of this book, which in addition to a great story, contains the series signature cat tips in every chapter.Each murder, so completely unrelated from the ones before it just adds to the readers’ interest. This story is the kind of cozy I love to read. The clues are all there if you are paying attention. I was, I swear, but I still had five perfect suspects, two of which turned out to be complete red herrings, and I was totally surprised by the big reveal. Mollie Hunt has surprised me before with her innocuous Cat Cozies. If you enjoy this series, then you will love this latest installment. If you have never read the series, then jump right in. It holds up well as a stand-alone with everything you need to know about Lynley, her friends, and her cat obsession all included.

END GAME is the second book in the Brooklyn Kings series. This time, we meet with Dev and Brody, quarterback and tight end, who have been together since college, and in love for nearly as long. Unfortunately for them, they can't share their love openly and have to keep it secret.
Dev and Brody have a strong relationship, but there is a bit of telling, not showing, with them, as well as time jumps. This detracted from their story for me because I wanted to see them fall in love, see the hardships and trials the separation of being drafted caused them. Instead, I was told about it, and then we hopped, skipped, and jumped to another timeframe.
Brody has a solid relationship with his mom, but doesn't get on too well with his stepfather, Theo. This is simply because he doesn't want to forget his father, but it doesn't really add anything to the story. There is no real angst between Theo and Brody - it just sort of fizzles out. As for Dev's parents, well, the less said about them the better. I thought they were bad when we first met them, but they got even worse, especially when Dev was injured and in hospital.
Even with these niggles, I still enjoyed this book, albeit not as much as book one. The team is a solid group of characters I look forward to seeing more from, although maybe not Zeke. He was a piece of work, for sure.
A good addition to the series and recommended by me.

Instead, I was told about it, and then we hopped, skipped, and jumped to another timeframe.

I absolutely devoured this book in 1.5 hours. It almost broke me in the middle been a while since a book made me cry! Maybe the mother in me. This is the story of Reds mother and how she dealt with her life and believe me it was hard! I thought the first book was good but this just was brilliant! I classic vampire love story was entwined with the tragic life of a 15 year old new wife. Loved it!

Geleon follows the rest of the Fueled by Lust series, in that it is smoking hot, with gorgeous, sexy, alpha males who are also some of the sweetest around, paired up with sassy females full of attitude! Jaelyn leads Geleon on a merry dance, but with Cato on his side (ye gods, I still love that male!!!!) she doesn't stand a chance! Geleon proves that he will do anything to prove to Jaelyn that he is just what she needs.
Geleon receives a shock of his own once Jaelyn's grandmother returns home, plus we find out if 'Ma' is really as senile as she was made out to be. I loved Ma and Eryx, their interaction was wonderful to read, and I really hope I don't have to wait too long for their story.
You see, right here, is the trouble with this series and Celeste Prater! No sooner have you started one book, than you get lost in the story and also find new characters to fall in love with and enjoy, which leads to you wanting the next book immediately!
As for this book, it is full of information that I can't wait to see where it goes or see how the history is intertwined with the present or the future. With action on both sides of the vortex, this is a star in the skies of Insedivertus! This series continues from strength to strength and I love it. Highly recommended.

Geleon receives a shock of his own once Jaelyn's grandmother returns home, plus we find out if 'Ma' is really as senile as she was made out to be. I loved Ma and Eryx, their interaction was wonderful to read, and I really hope I don't have to wait too long for their story.
You see, right here, is the trouble with this series and Celeste Prater! No sooner have you started one book, than you get lost in the story and also find new characters to fall in love with and enjoy, which leads to you wanting the next book immediately!
As for this book, it is full of information that I can't wait to see where it goes or see how the history is intertwined with the present or the future. With action on both sides of the vortex, this is a star in the skies of Insedivertus! This series continues from strength to strength and I love it. Highly recommended.

My Thoughts: This is the sequel to Phoebe's Light, we are introduced to her great grandaughter's Jane and Daphne. We are taken back to the Island of Nantucket where whaling is the mainstay of life. That means years, yes years that wives are away from their husbands, and life continues on without them. This novel is full of history, and Suzanne Woods Fisher has done an excellent job of research on the Quaker's and the Nantucket way of life.
In this novel, we are introduced to the Quaker religion and the ways of the people or "friends". It is a wonderful read, full of mystery, love, heartbreak, and turns of events. Suzanne Woods Fisher brings up themes of slavery, hypocrisy, and forgiveness.
The characters are entertaining, easy to love (or hate), she draws the reader in and writes an enjoyable storyline that keeps the reader on their toes. Full of history, the reader learns as they read along. I did enjoy reading Great Mary's journals and learning about the past history of the family and the island of Nantucket. In the end, we are left to ponder what "Minding the Light" means to us.
The reader will learn much from this book, and think about the issues that were covered in this story. This book comes highly recommended.
