Andy K (10821 KP) rated Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) in Movies

Who remembers Roger Rabbit?
My first summer job was in 1988 (I'm old) so I remember watching Who Framed Roger Rabbit over and over and loving it more each time I watched.
The late, great Bob Hoskins was able to hold his own against the melee of cartoon extravaganza put forth all around him. The story is fun and exciting with lots of twists and turns, but to just be a part of the cinema roller-coaster that is this film was all part of the fun.
Or seeing Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse together. Or seeing a piano duel with Donald and Daffy Duck.
I have never been a big fan of remakes, but they could probably do a great remake if Zemeckis decided to remake his own movie. I would be a fan of that.

Lee KM Pallatina (951 KP) rated Extraction (2020) in Movies

Action man
A hard hitting action packed gritty and violent movie that goes full adrenaline junkie in a very short time, that even when the plot slows, it isn't for long and doesn't feel any slower.
The movie is very 'John Wick' with its melee combat which is a bonus & Hemsworth has nicely shrugged off the thor status and adjusted to action star nicely.
Although an excellent movie it isn't without its downside, in this case it's the lack of dialogue/communication between the "hero team" during an extraction which felt a little odd in my opinion.
Plot:Chris hemsworth stars as A black-market mercenary who is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned powerful crime lord. But in the chaotic underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, another brush with death is just around the corner.

Awix (3310 KP) rated Destroy All Monsters (1968) in Movies
Feb 23, 2018 (Updated May 17, 2019)
Ninth Godzilla movie earns an extra point just for sheer chutzpah. A bit like a monster version of The Expendables, but with better acting. In the distant future of 1999, aliens take over monster version of wildlife preserve, set about causing mischief in the great cities of Earth.
The utter gravity of the performances when coupled to the completely preposterous plot results in a movie which it is almost impossible to take seriously: there is the odd sign even the original film-makers had their tongues in their cheeks. Still, it has all your favourite monsters in the same movie (even in the same scene, most likely), although the prominence of the different characters depends more on what state the monster suit is in than their actual fame. Film-makers arguably missed a trick in making the climactic monster battle more of a mugging than a grand melee, but you can't have everything. Ridiculous, awesome: awesomely ridiculous, ridiculously awesome.

Mothergamer (1546 KP) rated Greedfall in Video Games
Jun 14, 2020
I actually liked Greedfall. It definitely has a mix of Dragon Age and Fable vibes with the open exploration and the various main quest and side quests. Set in the 18th century it definitely showcases colonialism and all the problems and horrors that come with it. I felt frustrated with some of the story pacing in some areas because while the main character got to make a lot of choices, a lot of them felt like I didn't really get to do much for the sake of diplomacy. I enjoyed the combat and felt it had a great system that had a good mix of melee and magic. I liked exploring the island and fighting the giant creatures while learning about the native people of the island. Overall, I had fun playing the game in spite of some of the story issues. Matthew Krueger (10051 KP) rated the Xbox One version of DOOM in Video Games

Kick Some Ass 2016 Style
Doom 2016- yes i called it this because when you talk about it to people, sometimes their like "which one". So i call this one "Doom 2016". So lets talk about it.
The Gameplay:
According to the game's executive producer Marty Stratton, the key principles of Doom's single-player mode are "badass demons, big effing guns, and moving really fast".
"Glory Kills" is a newly-introduced melee execution system; when enough damage has been dealt to an enemy, the game will highlight it and allow the player to perform a quick and violent melee takedown, rewarding the player with small health recovery.
The game features a large arsenal of weapons which can be collected and freely switched by players throughout the game and require no reloading.
Many enemies also return from the original game, such as the Revenant, Pinky, Mancubus, and Cyberdemon, with many also redesigned. Doom's campaign was made to be at least 13 hours long, and the "Ultra-Nightmare" difficulty level features permadeath, which causes the savegame to be lost once the player dies. The campaign also features 13 levels.
Many of the levels have multiple pathways and open areas, which allow players to explore and find collectibles and secrets throughout the levels. Other pickups include small Doomguy figurines that allow the player to view 3D models of different characters, and data files that expand on the characters and story. Additionally, each of the game's levels contains a hidden lever which opens an area extracted from a classic level in the original Doom or Doom II. Finding each of these areas unlocks them, making them accessible from the game's main menu in a section called Classic Maps.
The Plot:
Players take the role of an unnamed space marine as he battles demonic forces from Hell that have been unleashed by the Union Aerospace Corporation on a future-set colonized planet Mars.
The Thankz:
Thank you id software and Bethesda software for rebooting this game.
Doom 2016- is a epic game and return to the Doom format that once was and adds more new.
