Lee KM Pallatina (951 KP) rated Ether One in Video Games
Aug 16, 2019
An open minded debut
Ether One is a first-person adventure game developed by British independent company White Paper Games. It was the studio's debut game and was originally released for Microsoft Windows on March 25, 2014. A PlayStation 4 edition was released on May 5, 2015.
The fragility of the human mind is the subject of Ether One, a moving first-person adventure that subtly experiments with your feelings. Choose one of two paths through the world. One lets you play through the game at your own pace, unfolding a story free from puzzles or challenges.

A Promising Start to the Saga!

Resident Evil is a good start to the 6 film series, though could it have been better? Yes.
The film is loosely based on the first Resident Evil game, starting in the notorious mansion (albeit for about 5 minutes) before moving to the underground Umbrella facility, the site of the "incident", and carrying on in the traditional "investigation gone wrong" style, with lots of zombies, dogs and not much else.
The film is a fun action film that can be considered as an mediocre standalone movie, or a good start to a 15 year franchise.

David McK (3576 KP) rated Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) in Movies
Dec 31, 2019 (Updated Apr 28, 2020)
My personal favourite of the Indiana Jones films, due largely to the comic repartee between Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones and Sean Connery as his father, Henry Jones Senior.
This is the one that starts with a flash-back to Indy's early years (with River Phoenix taking on the role of the young Indiana), showing how he got the scar, his fear of snakes and this hat and bullwhip, before moving on to the late 1930s (1938, I think) with Indiana hired to find his dad, who has gone missing on the trail of a holy relic: the cup of Christ, the legendary Holy Grail itself.

Sonofdel (6291 KP) rated Billy Connolly: Made In Scotland in TV
Jul 23, 2019 (Updated Jul 23, 2019)
A Wonderful Journey
I have loved Billy Connolly for many years and have watched most if not all of his television series. I decided to watch this as it shows just how he became the Big Yin. It shows his childhood on the streets of Glasgow, his brief, yet insightful working life, and his love of music, drama, art and all things entertainment. This was done last year and he speaks openly and frankly about his Parkinsons Disease and how it affects him. I loved this show and its both funny and moving and there will be tears i am sure when you watch it.

Sarah (7800 KP) rated Hens Reunited in Books

Light and enjoyable
As chick lit books go, this is fairly good. Yes it’s a little cheesy and it’s beyond predictable, but it’s well written and easy to connect with all 3 of the main characters in some way across the course of the book. They all have flaws, lots of them in some cases, and there are times when some of their actions become very frustrating. That said, it was a light hearted and sweet book that was quick and enjoyable to read. Not one I’d rush to recommend unless you're into these sorts of books - for me it was just a quick read before moving onto something more serious.

Eleanor (1463 KP) rated The Word Is Murder in Books

A good old fashioned murder mystery brought up to speed for the modern-day.
I listened to the audiobook read by Rory Kinnear who had a bit of an uperty sounding accent to me but it worked well for the character of the author who ends up trailing ex DI Hawthorne as he investigates a murder with mysterious circumstances. It's a cleverly written book.
The characters are on the grating side but it's embraced in the book and I think there is a lot of potential moving forward for this series to get into the details of the gruff no-nonsense Hawthorne. There's plenty to think about in this captivating mystery.
