Average Island
Well I don't really know anything about the old TV series apart from the actors. There are a few little nods to it but this is very different. The location looks nice and the start of the various fantasies coming to life is fun to see. Once things turn more sinister though the film becomes quite slow and rather dull than amazing. A few twists as to what is really going on with the island, but by then you really won't care about the characters that much. A shame as there was a lot of potential here to be creative but it ends in typical, predictable fashion. I had low expectations and they were met.

This was the latest book that was picked for my book club, and it was the best one from that group that I have had for a long while.
I connected with the main character Sylvia from the very first chapter, her love of reading resonated with me. And I enjoyed following her journey of starting a new job, and making new friends. This book also appealed to me because of the wildlife references in it, another hobby of mine.
I wouldn't say it's a book with an exceptionally in depth story, but it's a nice easy reading, feel good book, with a nice ending to it.
I will be reading more by this author if I come across them.

Excellent short story (read in under an hour) telling some of the background to the full Chronicles of the Black Gate series.
While the short story doesn't go into much detail on the world, races, geography etc this doesn't hinder enjoyment as a standalone work, as well as being a nice opener for the series as a whole.

Collectable notes
Lovely world
Bugs (2 more)
So many bugs
Knowing what and why this is happening would be nice
Great game but hindered by bugs
Addicted to this game at the moment. The grind is real and playing by yourself can be challenging. Lots of fun to be had with friends though.

Quite funny at times
Some good action scenes
A fun tribute film
This film doesn't try to change anything from the TV show. It's simple mindless fun and happy to make fun of itself. A hot cast, silly plot, in jokes and a nice location make this an easy watch to switch your brain off.

This moved the story along for the first film with some nice call backs to James Franko's character later on.
Overall I enjoyed this but it suffers from the same problems as the first film, a slightly meandering plot that would have been better served by less running time.
