"I love this woman’s writing. I’ve read everything, but this was the first. I finished it in the bath and cried my eyes out. It’s about grief, love, loss...all the big stuff. I went to a book reading of hers with the sole purpose of befriending her. It worked. We text!"

Gilmore Girls - Season 4

Rory is at college and the Inn is underway, it moves along smoothly. (0 more)
Digger is just a waste of time. He just prolongs the torture of waiting for Luke and Lorelai. (0 more)
What's the purpose of Digger?

The fact it took until this season for Luke and Lorelai is infuriating. Rory is slowly becoming someone unrecognisable and unlikable.

Much better than the movie!
This book has so many more stories than what you see in the movie and you really get to understand what the dog is thinking and feeling. It's a very interesting experience.

"I am not a Buddhist, but I have learned a great deal from Suzuki’s concept of “beginner’s mind.” In meditation you sit and concentrate on your posture and breathing. The purpose of meditation is to empty your mind and ready your awareness for anything and everything that will flow so that you can always be a beginner."

War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)
2017 | Action, Sci-Fi
The war of the title is primarily one of the soul.Caesar’s revenge, when it comes, is told with poignant restraint. The conflict here is one of morality, identity and the boundaries of humanity; all the guns and napalm, are secondary to War’s purpose.
Critic- James Dyer

I read this book prior to watching The Last Jedi so I knew some backstory on Canto Bight. Canto Bight, which served no purpose other than introducing the dumb character played by Del Toro. This book was definitely better than all of the scenes in the movie that took place on the planet.
Yes, I'm still salty about the Last Jedi.

Excellent for devoted fans!
This books is a great retelling of events from Edward's perspective. It's very enlightening and adds a perspective to the earlier books that simply doesn't exist without this book. And for that purpose, the book is great. But at the same time, that's exactly what it feels like at the end of the day, a retelling.

"One of those books that you read as a young man and become intoxicated with, yet it is a book to be savored over the course of a life. It was written with great mischief and humor, but full of empathy for the outsider struggling to imagine a purpose in this world. Donleavy is a writer who will be dearly missed."

The Circle (2017)
The Circle (2017)
2017 | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi
I'm sure the book is much better, and I'll probably go read it, since the premise is so interesting. The employees of 'The Circle' reminded me of the employees at Google/Facebook/Apple. The plot didn't seem to really go anywhere, and some of the side characters served little to no purpose. Emma Watson's acting wasn't up to her normal standard; her accent was whack.

"The dystopian side of Huxley produced Brave New World, which foretold the myriad bleak worlds to come. The Perennial Philosophy is the mirror opposite, or perhaps the cure. In describing the common features of world spirituality, it outlines with clarity the transcendent strain in what humans aspire to become. Without a transcendent vision, I can’t imagine anyone’s life having deeply rooted purpose and meaning."
