Any regular reader of Board Game Quest probably knows by now my love for cooperative board games. Much likes playing the game of Craps in the casino, it’s a lot of fun to have a group of people working together towards a common goal. You win together, you lose together. Thus, enter the newest cooperative board game to get reviewed here: Space Alert.
It also has the honor of being, spoiler alert, my absolute favorite cooperative board game on the market today. Space Alertcombines chaotic real time game mechanics with cooperative game play for what amounts to a really fun experience.

The protagonists of this story are Ayesha and Khalid, and the story is told from their perspectives. Ayesha is a modern Muslim girl, who believes that women have rights in this society, and her wishes are very different from what is expected of her. Khalid is a very conservative Muslim young man, who is proud of who he is. Both of these characters are absolute opposites, but even without realizing it, they share so much in common. I had a lot of joy while reading the story about their personal lives, and watching how they grew throughout this book. This novel has a huge variety of supporting characters, who play very important parts and are absolutely hilarious, just like in real life.

"I was playing guitar when this came out and I tried to learn all the riffs. I loved that idea of transforming the blues into heavy rock – taking blues classics and giving them a twist. A lot of the music was traditional blues songs, but the Stones had done the same thing in taking them and twisting them. So many British bands took blues songs and made them famous –there are people who think ‘Roll Over Beethoven’ was written by the Beatles, and a lot of people didn’t know who BB King was until Zeppelin made him famous. When I was young my friend’s brother played guitar. He was really into blues, playing Chuck Berry, and he would play all these old recordings, so I knew all of them. All those licks I heard, I would then hear Clapton and all those guys play. I saw Zeppelin at Bath Festival [in 1970] from a long way off – the violin bow solo with the echo chamber went on for hours, but they were great. I’d never been to anything like a festival before, and that was the first real one, I was on awe."

A mother and son are arguing in the kitchen. The father overhears them and decides to stay in his man cave where he starts to play a computer game. This game turns sinister, it asks him repeatedly "his tongue, her ears or die". He eventually chooses after being forced, his tongue and when he goes to the kitchen he finds his wife holding a knife and his sons tongue is missing..........

Fast forward to 3 months later, a computer programmer and his friend find a copy of a game called curs<r (the game played at the start of the movie) which offers a huge cash prize if won. They agree to meet up in a coffee shop to play the game.

When the guy is a no-show kayla decides to play the game by herself, quickly learning the type of game this is as it forces her to choose or die, each choice with real life consequences. After playing, kayla destroys the games tape, but it is soon evident that no matter what she does she must complete the game or risk dying.

The movie had an interesting concept but it was just too bizarre and it got stranger the more the movie went on, to the point where I lost interest fairly quickly, though I did like the little nods to the 80s such as the 80s style music and 8 bit video games, but sadly not these or even Robert Englund could save this movie.

Stay alive is the game that is given to a guy after his friend from childhoods untimely death. So his new friends say the best way to honor his death is to play this underground game since the deceased friend was a beta tester no one should have this game. Soon they find out that if you die in the game you die in real life. Are they playing a game or is the game playing them. Many people did not enjoy this movie but I feel it was ahead of the time in concept and using a real live person from history ( Elizabeth bathory also know as the blood countess) both helped and hurt the movie. many people do not know the blood countess history and they don't go into it as well as they should of. You don't really ever find out how the game came to be why she is killing from the game which is a miss( I could be wrong but there was an extended addition which I think there might have been something said about it). I think that is was a huge miss for them to not actually have made the stay alive into an actual game. The game footage that is shown of them playing for the time was really good and done well and how terrifying would it have been to watch the movie and play the game afterwords. I think this is a great popcorn movie which will make you fear your video game controller vibration for a while.

In the 9th installment of the Stepahnie Plum series Stephanie finds herself as the "prize" in a real-life game of murder. The players in this game are set up to hunt each other down by being given email clues from the Web Master an unknown person who directs the game & controls those who play it. Stephanie unknowingly thrusts herself into the game when she goes out to hunt down a guy who has bailed on his visa bond.
This book was much more suspensful than the last few in the series. There's lots of tasering, shooting, kidnapping, & bodyguarding. I figured out who the Web Master was with about 100 pages left to go...though I had my suspcisions earlier on. That didn't take away from the plot though.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this book and how relatable these characters were. I felt joy, sadness, and heartbreak for Essie. I often times felt like I was watching a real reality show think ___ kids and counting from TLC. I loved how much it also related to thinks that are news now. Womens rights and violence against women. For being a book about a religious family that didn't play much into the book except to be part of various locations or one of parts of the story. I really loved how the book came to be a 180 turn around and how Essie seemed to pull the strings by guiding things to happen but not forceful she knew one to step back and wait.

Ridiculous story
I want a medal for reaching the end of this triple marathon of an audio book that I basically hated. This was a tale of the ridiculous, a kind of farce in the play-sense and something that lacked real meat to the story. I cannot even re-synopsis briefly, because the irritation is strong.

The characters were mostly annoying, the story line was ridiculous to the power of 10 and the pace went from boring plodding to high, over-the-top drama.

Narration was a bit of an issue when you have 9 povs and one narrator but that wasn't the reason for my dislike.

I have enjoyed this author before, so if this is your first time reading Liane Moriarty, give this one a miss and pick another.

This is still my favourite of all the GTA games. It was just so much fun to play! The right balance of serious story and silly little things you could do.
The soundtrack has a load of great 80s hits, plus a few tracks made for the game. The inspired bit though were the ads - Blox, that kills germs... and everything else! Musty Pines old people's home, Giggle Cream - all just so funny! Also the talk radio, which is not something I'd usually listen to in real life, but did occasionally in game because it was so fun.

If there was any game I wish they did a remake of (keeping the same quests etc but modern graphics), this would be it.

So I have been play this for while.

Totally love the game, one of the best Resident Evils I have played. The graphics and SFX set a very tense atmosphere. The graphics in particular are very crisp and it almost looks real. This is true for Baker family and other Humans you meet.

Monsters less look realistic in comparison. Though do give great jump scare. Not sure on their official name but I call the "Venomites", The tall tendrily creatures that the Bakers seem to have are creepy as hell.

The puzzles are you standard Resident Evil fare, which is good and really enjoyable for fans of the older entries in particular.

The boss fights are something else, So far I fought Ma & Pa Baker. These were tough to beat. Using a lot of different attacks to keep you guessing. No QTEs, just good old wits, skill and hoping your ammo does not run out.

I particularly like the story, keeps you guessing and wondering if and how this fits into the rest of Resident Evil universe.

I recommend this to anyone who loves a good scary game. Just maybe don't play before bed.
