"The Western is obviously one of the staples of American cinema, but ironically, the Italian spaghetti-westerns have become more famous in pop culture than the classic American western. And amongst the spaghetti-western directors, Sergio Leone will always be the titan for me. Although I love his films with Clint Eastwood, this epic is one to spend an evening with; from the classic shoot-out at the train depot, to the haunting final three-way gun fight, this may be my favorite portrayal of Charles Bronson on screen. It’s a story of the expansion of the railroad and the opening of the west; of revenge and infamy; of love triangles and justice. And with a sweeping, heartrending soundtrack from Ennio Morricone, what more can you ask of a film?"

Though in my review for the previous book I claimed I was just in this for the possible something/anything to happen between our prince's...I lied!!

The whole good versus evil thing has definitely got me cheering on these two--the budding romances really isn't hurting the book at all, though that secret may cause some real trouble in the next one--and I really want to see them get peace and revenge for everything that's happened so far to all these people.

I'm impatiently awaiting book three so I can see what happens next in this series, and so hopefully my two guys can get some sort of happy ending because if not I know I'll be even more tempted to throw my kindle than I was with this one.

Family Vacation Gone Wrong

Taken 2- it has good action and a good story but its forgettable. After watching it, you just forget about it. One and done film. Cant wait to watch the third one. Yay.

The plot: Two years ago, retired CIA agent Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) used his "particular set of skills" to rescue his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace), from kidnappers. Since then, Kim has been learning self-defense from her father, and Bryan has been on a personal mission to reunite with his ex-wife (Famke Janssen). In Istanbul, Bryan and his family cross paths with Murad (Rade Serbedzija), whose son died at Bryan's hand during Kim's rescue. Murad wants revenge, and he'll stop at nothing to get it.

Like i said its good.

Lassie meets Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Hungarian-style. A young girl and her faithful pet are forcibly parted, which is the stuff of many a tear-jerking melodrama. The dog raises an army of mongrels and sets out to take revenge on human civilisation, which is not.

Obviously scores quite highly on the 'never seen *that* in a movie before' front; excellent direction and storytelling, and a remarkably self-possessed performance by Zsofia Psotta. Never really overcomes a slightly self-conscious weirdness that keeps it from completely working as either horror or drama. It's not entirely clear what the moral premise of the movie is, other than 'be kind to dogs'; can't help thinking it's probably quite facile, anyway. But the dog trainers do a sterling job of keeping it interesting.

Danish revenge thriller. A veteran soldier teams up with a gang of geeks to find the man responsible for his wife's death. Looks like yet another attempt at something like a Liam Neeson movie, but this is much defter and funnier, and more emotionally articulate.

Great performance from Mikkelson, playing the straight man as he is surrounded by comic performances from his various sidekicks - but this is a serious film about grief and how the world works and how people attempt to make sense of this. The director manages to slide the film from farce to thriller to drama without any of the changes in tone jarring in the slightest, even if the plot is a bit reliant on the occasional contrivance. Lots of fun but also undeniably moving.
