Erika (17788 KP) rated Shadow of Night in Books
Oct 5, 2017
I recently re-read this book the yesterday when I was sick and felt like dying. I loved the history within it, and the characters. There were some elements I abhorred, but they made sense because of the storyline, so I sucked it up and dealt with it.

Erika (17788 KP) rated The Book of Life in Books
Oct 5, 2017
This was definitely the way to end the trilogy. While again, elements I abhor (pregnancy, children), they made sense, and had to be there. Loved most of the characters, and how everything played out. This trilogy is one of my favorites, without a doubt.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle (2004) in Movies
Oct 5, 2017
Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle consistently nails that laugh because it is, quite simply, good, dumb, stoner fun. At least, the humor is dumb; the heroes, quite refreshingly, are not.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated Trainwreck (2015) in Movies
Oct 5, 2017
At times it feels as if five different films are going on at once, but Schumers whip-smart delivery and no-holds perkiness keeps it all in place. Just as her director wilfully mines his own life for laughs, there is a whole lot of Amy in Amy.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2001) in Movies
Oct 5, 2017
''O Brother, Where Art Thou?'' similarly offers a fairy-tale view of an America in which the real brutalities of poverty and racism are magically dissolved by the power of song.
