The first of Herge's 2-part adventure detailing Tintin's Moon adventure, it's amazing to think that these stories were actually written roughly 20 years before man actually first did so!

Unlike its sequel (Explorers on the Moon), this one is mainly set on good old Planet Earth itself, with Tintin (and Snowy!), Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus and the bungling Thompson twins all in the Sprodj Atomic Research Centre in Syldavia, working on the rocket that will take them to the moon!

This, I believe, is also one of only a handful of 2-part stories (the others being the earlier The Secret of the Unicorn followed by Red Rackham's Treasure and The Seven Crystal Ballsfollowed by Prisoners of the Sun).

Finally, remember the era in which they were written!

Seemed a little familiar in more ways than one

The First Karate kid

Loosely Based on Chinese mythology, kung fu legends Jackie Chan and Jet Li Co star in this fun adventure loosely based on Chinese mythology.
Full of stunning visual effects and kung fu moves as only they can do, this punch (and kick) adventure places the two in anchient China, when an everyday teen hooked on Goofy but classic kung fu movies is mysteriously thrown back in time where here meets the drunken master (Chan) and a mysterious Monk (Li).
Together the two must train the boy to fight as the chosen protector of the staff of the Monkey King in a journey to return it to its master.

Then they can kill each other (movie joke).

Classic Eddie Murphy

An old school classic comedy that showcases a great comedic actor at his very best.This was Eddie Murphy is at his most funniest (and serious in parts) role ever (imo anyway)

Murphy plays an african prince who wants to find a woman who will love him for himself not because he is royalty so he decides to head over to America to find said bride.He poses as a poor african student and when he eventually does find that special woman he goes all out to win her over while trying to keep his identity a secret.

A sequel is due to this next year (32 years after the original!!) and I just hope they dont ruin the legacy of the original with a painfully unfunny film.
