The original entry in 'The Fast and the Furious' franchise, this is a very different beast than it's later sequels (from around the 4th one, just called 'Fast and Furious') would become.
And, surprisingly, those later sequels are generally the better films.
I don't know, perhaps it's because I'm by no stretch of the imagination a gear head, but I do find this to be quite slow, incomprehensible, and largely missing the later hallmarks (I refer, of course, to the outlandish stunts) of those later movies, whilst also an extremely heavy debt of gratitude to the likes of 'Point Break' in the plot department.

You had me a Tremors
These guys Kill me, they are truly doing the lords work and watching all those dodgy sequels to classic movies you love, so you don’t have to.
I came on board during their run on the Tremors movies and never looked back.

An unnecessary sequel
As with all sequels, this one is pretty unnecessary. Whilst as sequels go it isn’t terrible, it just feels like it’s repeating the same old things over again, and not very well either. This film seems to have upped the ante on the gore and the body count, but it’s nowhere near as scary or creepy. It’s still quite entertaining and funny, it’s just not a patch on the original and the little twist at the end is a lame.
I’m shocked to see how many famous people are in this that I forgot about, namely Jack Black and Milton Dammers himself, Jeffrey Combs. Just a shame they couldn’t make this as good as the original.

I thought Genisys was appalling and didn’t have particularly high hopes for this, so I was pleasantly surprised that this was actually pretty decent. Of course it’s not a patch on T1 & 2 but it’s miles better than the other sequels. The action is very satisfying and the film is much more adult, taking itself seriously and dialling down the one liners. The three leading ladies were all good in vastly different ways and I liked the Mexico setting. Sadly the weakest link was actually big Arnie (didn’t quite by him as retired terminator turned drapes salesman called Carl). It’s not perfect but it’s certainly a fun watch and largely atones for the sins of the other sequels.
