Gripping as always
Another brilliant novel from SK, have not read the shining, although watched it many years ago, so knew the main character already. Kinda want to read the shining now though. I also loved the reference in here that is in his DT series. There are other worlds than these. Loved it, a must read if you like SK and horror/supernatural books

"I can’t leave out Kubrick. I think my favorite Kubrick movie is kind of tied between A Clockwork Orange and The Shining. The Shining meant a lot to me. It was the first movie that made me really want to act. I love Jack Nicholson in that movie. I didn’t know who Jack Nicholson was at the time — I was like 11 when I saw it, but something about what he was doing in that movie just fascinated me."

Another shining example of DC will not be beaten on the small screen. Titans is just insanely good, superbly written and top notch acting from some relative nobodies

Fantastic sequel
If you neglected to read The Shining before reading this book, there will be parts that don't make any sense. Do yourself a favor and read The Shining first, TRUST ME! This book made me particularly weary of large convoys of RV people and put Danny's adult life into a perspective I didn't envision for him. I loved this book completely and was reading to go back and read cover to cover all over again.

"One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is a movie that I just find flawless. Jack Nicholson… I just saw The Shining again the other day; he’s so brilliant. He’s such a brilliant actor, just unbelievable."

"Before Full Metal Jacket, before Dr. Strangelove, there was Paths of Glory. Kubrick’s fluid camera choices in the battle scenes really show his evolution toward the incredible Steadicam work he would later originate on The Shining."

Spent yesterday evening giving my kiddo a film education in Stephen King... Pet Sematary and The Shining. Can't wait for the PS remake...maybe we will do a little Shawshank Redemption today before we celebrate Christmas early.

"My first favorite film is The Shining by Stanley Kubrick. I am a huge horror film fan. I love them so much. I’ve always loved them. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been attracted to scary stuff; I don’t know why. When I was younger I would watch a lot of the cheesier process-of-elimination slasher ’90s films. And then I feel like, as my tastes matured a little bit as I got older, I found The Shining, which is a movie that my dad had always spoken about with this weird fear, because he’d never finished the movie. He’s like, “The one film I’ve never been able to finish in my life is The Shining.” So I grew up like, “What is The Shining?” And then, finally I watched it, and it was just incredible. Well, Stanley Kubrick’s my favorite director, so you’ll probably see a lot of his films in the top five. I just love that movie so much, and it’s my favorite on-screen performance of all time, from Jack Nicholson. I think that he’s absolutely incredible. I’m ready to play a role like that."
