The protagonist in this story would be Elsie, a girl, who can do a few magical spells. She is only beginning to learn how to do magic, with the help of a great witch Magenta. I really liked Elsie, she is smart but kind little witch, that is not afraid of adventures. I really liked all the characters chosen for the book, they are all different and interesting to read about. They all have their moods, that make them special and memorable.

The narrative of this novel was easy, adventurous and entertaining. This book is not very long, and it is filled with beautiful illustrations. The narrative is quite surprising, and it has interesting turns and unexpected surprises. I absolutely loved the magical larder, that makes any dish/food you wish for. (I need this in my life!!!

The Hunter ( The Realm book 2)
By Eve Langlais

Suzie and her twins tired of running from a violent ex, decide to settle down in sweet suburbia. But forget the quiet life, meet Hunter, Suzie's hot next door neighbor. Masquerading as a private eye, in truth he's a tracker from a magical realm on a quest to keep his world's existence secret. Little does he know that love has its sight on him. To survive a threat from Suzie's past and a predatory shapeshifter from the Realm, they will rely on the special skills that only the Hunter possesses. But will the Hunter allow himself to be caught for the sake of love?

I think everyone need a neighbour like a hunter oh my gosh was he a bit yummy! Yes I used the word yummy! I enjoyed getting a bit more from the realm but they never spend long enough in it! The kids were just so bloody adorable and I now need two dragon babies! This was a easy quick read and I really enjoyed it. Think more could have been made with the hunting and demise of the dragon but still a decent read.

Murder Leaves Behind Spilled Cocoa
It’s the week before Christmas, and business is booming at Robbie’s restaurant, Pans ‘N Pancakes. However, not everyone is in a festive mood. Local businessman Jed Greenburg is found dead on the sidewalk while he was out walking a Chocolate lab puppy, the spilled contents of a mug of Robbie’s special hot chocolate blend next to him. What happened?

It’s no surprise to me that I enjoyed this novella. Several of the series regulars are away for the holiday, which actually works out very well since this is a novella. We are able to focus on the characters important to mystery. Robbie’s boyfriend’s family are actually key to the events as they unfold, and it was great to get to know them a little better. The mystery was strong, and I enjoyed watching it unfold. As always, the scenes in the restaurant made my mouth water, and I am now craving breakfast foods. Fortunately, the novella includes a couple of recipes, including a special hot chocolate recipe.

NOTE: This story is a novella, roughly 100 pages, and was originally part of the novella collection Christmas Cocoa Murder. If you have that book, there is no need to buy this ebook. If you haven’t read the story, now is the time to sit back and enjoy this Christmas mystery.

A surprisingly fabulous memoir!
Helen Macdonald is an Academic and a Falconer. She loses her father and decides to get a Goshawk and train it - they're notoriously difficult to train; but the connection they have is special. T H White features heavily in this, and his memoir of training his Goshawk is recounted alongside Helen's own story. His first attempt with a Goshawk was disastrous (I believe he became more successful after.).
This is a very moving story: we see Helen trying to 'become' more like a Hawk and not need people after her father's death. The descriptions of nature and the hawk are amazing, and i loved the language she used. A brave story in a lot of ways, to admit to mental health issues and her own (perceived) shortcomings. The end is particularly sad - but I'll leave it to you to read it and find out why!

Introducing some thrilling charachters....
Oh I need this to be a series or at least a trilogy; I need more Evie Cormac!!! The characters in this book are great, if you missed my subtle hint I love Evie. As a young girl Evie is found alone and in a terrible condition, with nothing known of her past. She is kept in care where her path eventually crosses our other main protagonist the psychologist Cyrus Haven. Cyrus also has a dark past and the mystery surrounding their histories is really gripping.

Evie has a Girl with the Dragon Tattoo feel to her, and like Lisbeth in the Stieg Larsson books, Evie has a special talent in this case the ability to know when people are lying. A thoroughly broken but endearing character, I really wanted to see Evie succeed despite herself, and she loves dogs which is always going to get me on side.

The main story itself wasn’t nearly as interesting as the characters. The death of school girl and star figure skater Jodie is a fairly straightforward mystery without much in the way of surprises. However taking the journey with Evie and Cyrus is well worth picking this book up for.

My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The story follows the main character of Mare. A girl brought up in poverty where, in her society, she is considered lesser because of her red blood. The elite members of society have silver blood and a range of special abilities which are introduced throughout the book.
Through a series of events Mare ends up living in the Palace with the silver bloods working as an accomplice and spy with the newly formed Scarlet Guard (or the resistance to you and me).
The book sucked me in after a clichéd start to the novel (a fact which is openly mentioned on the front cover of the novel). Once it gets past the sections of the story you swear you've heard before, the plot twists and unexpected elements of the novel come out to play.
There's special powers, secret plots, war, love triangles. Everything you need to make a really exciting read.
My bug bear with this series was the lack of depth. I wanted to know more about the characters and their motivations, I wanted to know more about the world. I felt like too many big (and interesting) concepts were only mentioned in passing rather than given the attention they deserved.
Overall, I did really enjoy this story and I feel compelled to read the other novels in the series but it isn't a favourite.

Special Teams (Underground #1) by Sean Michael
Special Teams is the first book in the Underground series. In this, we meet Hunt and Keif, a Dom and sub respectively. Hunt turns up to a private party where he is actually checking out whether the subs are being kept there against their will (they're not). Who he finds in the number one sniper on the SWAT team.

The is a book with plenty of hot sex, there's no doubt about that. It also tells the story of how Hunt needs someone to be his boy, but to be his equal in other areas. Keif is permanently on guard, and doesn't know how to relax. He needs to place his trust in someone. These two really are a perfect match.

With no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was especially nice to read about the care Hunt gave Keif, before, during, and after scenes. Hunt also didn't need to do a scene to care for Keif. I would have liked a bit more information about Keif's background, as it seemed to have a big impact on how he was as a person.

All in all, a hot and sexy book with sweet times too. Definitely recommended.

This Shudder exclusive was a very present surprise, featuring some genuinely creepy scenes, and a very interesting take on demons (?) and the lore surrounding them.

The cast are great, chewing scenery when they need to, and playing just the right amount of seriousness to keep the viewer engrossed.

There are some great stand out scenes, and there are moments remind me of movies like 'In the Mouth Of Madness' and 'Insidious', but to draw too many comparisons does this film a discredit.

its great fun, a little weird, but plenty creepy, and it keeps you guessing as to who's story it is, who is our protagonist, and whether you will get a happy ending at all.

I really enjoyed it, and I think fans of supernatural horror, or Lovecraftian madness will find something to like here.

THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE tells a fast-paced story about what it is like to be born special, even amongst the different. Kassia had problems keeping her emotions under control. This is a bad thing because she is able to cause pain, and even death, just by thinking about it. She has her own little support group in her BFF Mira, Noe, Auralee, Zane, and her love, Daxton.

The title of the book sort of gives away the main part of the story, but like most good books, the fun is getting to that part. This IS fast-paced so you need to read it carefully and not skim, otherwise a month has passed and you missed the reference that told you so.

I found this to be a gripping story that engaged my emotions. It was incredibly well-written and I loved every word. This book is concluded nicely with a small teaser that will definitely leave you wanting more. Absolutely recommended by me.

The LEGO games how now gotten too complicated with many additional features and challenges that I do not like. Some of the newer LEGO games even have the characters TALKING. What's up with that?

The original LEGO Star Wars games were so much fun. I especially loved the challenges of having to figure out which character you had to use in which situation or if you needed a special helmet to get into a particular area.

The game is still very replayable as you need to both complete the story mode and then go back to each level and find everything hidden within it.

I think one my favorite parts was when you could make the characters dance or a disco ball would show up and everyone would get down.

Also, all ages can enjoy.

I never seemed to do well at the vehicle missions and always died a million times before I completed them. Maybe it was just me.

Very great game!
