Interesting
This movie was surprisingly good. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but the acting was really good and the cinematography was, too. It had some interesting characters(everyone did great job), pretty cool sci-fi tech, and the storyline moved along at a very smooth pace. It had good dialogue, a decent background story for the main character and even some well placed action sequences. Overall, this movie was really very good and worth a watch!

Very interesting, but complicated as audiobook

You really need a lot of background information to make any sense of this. I feel this requires reading, scanning back and digesting the material because it's difficult to follow if you miss one small part. While it is important, I wish I had read this instead. Imagine listening to the Big Short. Very similar themes are raised, but including the tech side of how banks and investors manipulate the system.

David McK (3251 KP) rated Elementary - Season 7 in TV

I thought Season 6 had the perfect send-off, with Holmes and Watson back where they belong in 221b Baker Street.
This, curtailed (I think they knew beforehand) season has the duo moving back to the States following the shooting of a former colleague, with the through line in this 13(?)-episode run being the threat posed by the tech billionaire Odin Reichenbach.
yes, I said Reichenbach.
It's no coincidence one of the final episodes is called 'Reichenbach Falls'

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Reaper's Run (Plague Wars, #1) in Books
Jan 12, 2018
[Reaper's Run] is the first book in the [Plague Wars Series] by [David VanDyke]. It is a great start and a fast past thrill ride. When Jill Repeth realizes her legs, that she lost in the war, are regrowing, she knows something is going on. It is much deeper than she realizes and her new fight is just beginning.
This is a fast paced, action book with apocalyptic and tech twists very akin to [Plague War] by [Jeff Carlson] but with a lot more action.

Rodney Barnes (472 KP) rated the PlayStation 4 version of Anthem Legion of Dawn Edition in Video Games

Anthem is a great game. I love playing it and look forward to the content coming in the future. It has had its technical issues but what game these days don't. Despite all the negative press, of which I hate including all the YouTube hate, I love the game and have played it everyday since I bought it. I am 44 years old, so I have seen my share of bad games in my lifetime. Anthem is NOT one of them

It is not bad
They have so many little neat things, my nephews and nieces love getting presents and Christmas stockings from us. We have about 30 kids we buy for, so this little jem makes showering them with gifts affordable. It has great stuff for grownups too, just remember--this is an Asian based country-- smaller bodies all the way around, including feet. The clothes are sometimes not the best quality and judging sizes(especially for curvy or plus)is rough. And as I said--sometimes you get exactly what you pay for -- a 3 dollar dress is probably not going to look like red carpet fashion. So buyer beware. They have electronics, tech, kitchen ware, craft supplies, curtains, rugs, bedding etc. Just remember to use your best judgement.
Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Doctor Who: The Justice of Jalxar in Books
Jan 12, 2018
Nice solid story with a lot of fun elements. The Doctor and Romana stop off in Victorian England and meet up with... Jago and Lightfoot, which EVERY Who story could use more of. The characterizations are wonderful and just as you remember, without all the prejudicial and racist overtones of Talons. The story may not be more than just standard adventure fare (alien tech falls to earth, gets misused) but a Judge Dredd style robot exercising justice based on how guilty you feel is a neat idea. Not As Bad As I Thought
When this game was released, it was absolutely slaughtered by critics, with some even claiming it was the worst game of the generation and possibly even the worst game ever developed. Out of morbid curiosity I picked it up, expecting the absolute worst and I was pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong, it's not GOTY material, but it's not awful either. If you played Killzone Shadow Fall, it's similar to that, more low tech in terms of weapon etc but in terms of quality it's no worse.
