The Split by Sharon Bolton is a roller coaster of a ride from start to finish. I know that sounds very clichéd, but it’s true! I don’t think I managed to draw breath whilst I was reading each stave every morning for twelve days on The Pigeonhole. I had no idea what was going to happen next, and I REALLY appreciated that!

Felicity comes to see Joe, a counsellor, when she is found wandering, lost and disorientated in Cambridge, where he story is set. She doesn’t know how she got there, or how she has been injured. She wants to go to South Georgia to carry out her research on glaciers ( she’s an academic at the university), but has to have a clean bill of health. This accident puts her mental health in doubt.

I don’t want to say too much more about the plot. I will say that it was a breathtaking read. I was constantly left wondering what could possibly happen next, and I didn’t know who to be the most worried for, or who I could trust - if indeed I could trust anyone at all!

It’s a great read, and one I’d thoroughly recommend if you like suspense - I was on tenterhooks for the whole book!

Siren Sacrificed ( Thief of Hearts book 2)
By C.R. Jane and Mila Young
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What is a siren without her power?

I'm about to find out, and I have no problems embracing the darkness to do so.
I was thrown into a literal hell, and every day feels like it could be my last.
But amid such darkness, I thought I found light with three men who've shown me happiness is possible even in a place like this.
Except, maybe I was too quick to trust and give my heart away.
They say trust takes years to build, seconds to break... and I don't think forever will be long enough to repair what they did to me.
One will sacrifice himself for me. One will shatter my soul. And one will kill me to save me.

This is a weird little series I’m really enjoying it! It has such a dark undertone that gives me the creeps. This young woman has just had hell and I’m not sure how much more she can take! This ending is just so sad but I felt peaceful with her. Can’t wait to see what book 3 brings. I really enjoy Mila Youngs books.

AMETHYST FLAME is the second book in The Butterfly Witch series. We return to Mo as she heads out for a weekend in Vegas. She is still living with her mum and Manager at the Desert Freeze shop. Both she and her mum are still reeling from what happened at the end of the first book.

If I had to say what this book is about - in a nutshell - I would say trust. Or lack of it. Whatever. Basically, this whole book is a mindf*ck of who Mo can trust and rely on. There are secrets within secrets with all of them, but it is Mo on the frontline.

This book expands on what started in the first part, including a revelation about Mo's moths, and will absolutely leave you wanting more. My Kindle nearly hit the wall with the ending and I can't wait for the next book!!!

An Urban Fantasy where the heroine doesn't have all sorted within five minutes. Highly recommended by me.

First off let me say paranormal romance usually is not my thing. Now that being said I really enjoyed [Reyna Hawk's] [Angels & Arrows] because it was not a typical paranormal romance. Yes that was part of it but there was cultural history and excitement as well. None of the "Oh woe is me my vampire boyfriend left me I am going to curl up and die." Maria is a fighter. A bit of a pessimist but really a fighter. It takes a bit for her to learn to trust and have faith but when she does evil spirits better watch out.

Wow, I could not put this book down! Code Name Verity is the story of two girls who become best friends while serving their country in WWII. Without spoiling too much (ok, just a little) you read both of the friends' accounts of the same few weeks. But one you reach part two, you discover that you can't trust everything your read in part one. It's about war and flying, it's about friendship and family, it's about secrets, lies, and truth. Read it, tell all your friends about it, read it again.

The mystery and intrigue continues. With very new piece of information we learn it seems as though one question is answered and at least two more appear.

Huntley continues to save the world in style whilst trying to decipher her past. All of this is made more challenging by not knowing who to trust.

As a reader we are just as baffled as Huntley about her past, despite the very small snippets from an unknown narrator.

The book ends on a pretty massive cliffhanger, so be prepared, although you’re lucky, you won’t have to wait for the next book to be released.

Iris lives a life with everything orderly and controlled. An anonymous gift turns out to be a sick piece of artwork which leads Iris into danger. Can a neighbor and his dog help her find love, comfort, and the ability to trust again?

As with the first book in the Planted series, this is more than just a book of mystery and romance. The underlining story has to do with finding faith, strength, understanding, and support while gaining a deeper relationship with God and his teachings.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved this series!! How can anyone NOT love Kellan Kyle!? Just the sweetest guy and the love he feels for Kiera is so apparent. I could totally relate to Kiera, I really loved her character and found her to be so much like myself. I loved watching the two of them grow together and was amazed at the level of trust they could find for each other in some of the most difficult situations. I laughing hysterically, loving the banter between the guys on the road, Griffin's mouth ;-) and then, of course, crying at every turn. I CAN'T WAIT to read Kellan's POV!!
