Chronologically the first Narnia book, this was actually the last book written in the series, and goes back to how the magical land of Narnia (going by publication date, first visited in [b: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe|100915|The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1)|C.S. Lewis|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1353029077s/100915.jpg|4790821]) came to be.

As such, who says that the concept of prequels is a new invention??

Personally, I think I approached this from the wrong perspective: when I hear the word 'magician' mentioned (as in the title of the book) I tend to think either of the likes of Paul Daniels, or (going by literature) of Gandalf the Grey/White.

That, however, is not how the magician is portrayed here: rather than a benevolent, kindly old character, we instead have a selfish, greedy older man, who is responsible for sending the two children protagonists (Digory and Polly) into the magical woods between the worlds, and eventually into the land that will become Narnia.

If I'm honest, it's also not a story that I was overly familiar with: sure, I'd read (as a kid) that more famous previously mentioned entry and (more recently) have even watched a few of the movies, but this one? Not so much.

BLOOD WITCH is the fifth book in the Witches of Westwood Academy and, to get the best, you really need to read these in order.

Mabe thinks she is a blood witch, who are reviled for being evil. She doesn't know any differently though, just going by her symptoms. With Arlo's help, she has been drinking blood bags from the infirmary which is all good until the Council sends an Enforcer to find out what's going on. Enter Fin.

As with all the others in this series, it is fast-paced and insta-love. The thing I loved about this one - more than the relationship with Fin - was how Mabe finally accepted she has a coven and friends, not just roommates. Now, going back to her relationship with Fin. Fan yourselves because it's a HOT one. Mabe claims him and I loved the others' reaction to it, mainly because I felt the same!

One character I really don't like, and haven't so far, is Leanna Stolbright! I really want to see her comeuppance and am hoping she gets it!

A great read, so long as you've read the others.

Utterly terrible, boring, and cliche. The plot involves the Salem Witch Trials, reincarnation, and zombies, which I'm not saying can't work, it just didn't with this one. Not one thing or person in this book bore any resemblance to those in the series, other than using the same names, and the dialogue was beyond awkward. I'm not even sure the author ever saw the show. Everything was so cardboard. No, I'm wrong, it was far worse than that, more like cardboard that had been out in a torrential downpour. For a week. Gross, soggy, mushy cardboard. Filled with rat turds. Not recommended at all.

Fantastic
I want to say that this book was better than the first but that would be a lie as they are equally outstanding. I was glued to my seat and couldn't turn the pages fast enough. This one picks up where the first one left off and the storytelling is fantastic. I was quickly swept away and lost within this beautiful storyline full of Vikings, princesses, maniacal jarls and even a very disturbing witch. The characters are strong and work well within the story and I can't wait to learn more about Dayna and Brant as I know their story will also be epic!!
