How far would you go to get your into the movie business?
I first saw this on TV some years ago. It’s also known as The Buddy Factor in some countries. I just love it so much. I know Kevin Spacey is a dirty word these days, but his acting in this as Buddy Ackerman, head of Production is just so good! Psychotic sex maniac, obsessed with hair loss.
Add to this Frank Whaley as Guy, the newbie assistant to Buddy, is put through hell hoping to get a screenplay produced. Add to this Dawn, producer, Guys new girlfriend, producer and ex Buddy squeeze and you get a recipe of disaster.
It’s just funny but also appalling tale of Hollywood film production.

The 80s paired up many actors in buddy cop movies and this is one of the better pairings. Dreyfuss produces an amazing performance with his partner played by Estevez, the chemistry between them is wonderful, an 80s underrated gem of a movie.

While this movie has taken a critical beating, I don't feel that is justified.
Disregarding the source material, Spenser Confidential is a better than average buddy cop movie. Add to that the enormous number of productions that Netflix is pushing out so quickly and I would put this toward the top of their output. Not THE top, but definitely not close to the bottom.

Shaun of the dead set the bar way too high, and although this film is entertaining it falls short in comparison
This buddy cop action movie is very funny in parts but not enough to elicit belly laughs, and the many star appearances seem shoehorned in at times.
Short lived but entertaining fun.

One of my all time favourite Christmas movies. Traditionally watched over the festive period.
The story follows a human who as a baby crawls into Santa's sack and ends up at the North Pole. He (Buddy) grows up with the elves but struggles with the elf jobs due to his size.
Buddy goes on a mission to find his Dad, who doesn't believe this strange man to be his son. Everyone falls in love with Buddy except his Dad, who struggles to accept him or believe his story of the North Pole and Santa, that's until Christmas Eve arrives and Santa is in trouble. Cue Buddy's new found friends to save Christmas.
A full on feel good festive movie, that will become a firm favourite in any household.

Somebody please tell me, at what point did a movie series about illegal street racing become a large, dumb, action blockbuster?
Because that's what this film is.
Don't get me wrong - I enjoy large, dumb, action block-busters!
Known in the UK as simply Fast and Furious 8, this one sees Dim - for reasons - turning against his former crew, leading to multiple car chases, explosions, fights, gunplay, muscle flexing and good cop/bad cop buddy buddy repartee between several of its core cast - the latter most noticeably between The Rock and Jason Statham, who now have their own spin-off movie - finally culminating in a long (20 minutes?) set piece across the frozen ice as they try to stop a stolen nuclear submarine from escaping to sea.
