BookCritics (259 KP) rated Lincoln in the Bardo in Books
May 16, 2017
Lincoln in the Bardo is an incredible first novel from a master of the short fiction format. The shared narration is reminiscent of a Greek chorus or a conversation, rendered on the page like the script of a play.

BookCritics (259 KP) rated Ill Will in Books
May 16, 2017
The reason that this wasn’t a five star rating for me, was the fact the story kind of left me hanging at the end. There wasn’t a neat and tidy tie-up to the ending. The reader can and has to assume certain things have happened…or did they?

BookCritics (259 KP) rated Ill Will in Books

The synopsis of this book doesn't do it justice. This book is a magnificent thriller that I read in one sitting. Everything that a thriller requires in order to strike horror in the heart of a reader was included in this book.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated The Hero (2017) in Movies
May 25, 2017
There’s obviously a lot of love put it into this film by its talent in front of and behind the camera and in a situation of life imitating art, Elliott should get all the attention and praise he deserves from this film.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated I, Daniel Blake (2016) in Movies
May 26, 2017
This is a disturbing film that many audiences will find confronting, particularly those who think they live in a caring society that supports people in need. The pace is slow and the dialogue often terse, but that’s how life is at the bottom.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated The Journey (2016) in Movies
May 26, 2017
The Journey leans heavily on its two leading men, who are the main reason for watching it. It looks like it’s based on a contrivance, but has its roots, it becomes the accepted backdrop for the start of the reconciliation between the two.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated Wonder Woman (2017) in Movies
May 31, 2017
Wonder Woman has long been a character for little girls to idolize, but Patty Jenkins’ smashing success grants a forceful push towards gender equilibrium in the superhero movie world. Gone are the fears that audiences will balk at a female-led fantasy.

BookCritics (259 KP) rated Once And For All in Books
Jun 1, 2017
I finished this book in no time at all with zero trouble. Now that I look back at the story, I can imagine how much work it must have taken for the author to come up with this complex backstory. This book was very playful and amusing at times!

BookCritics (259 KP) rated Roar in Books
Jun 1, 2017
There are multiple POVs, and Carmack handles them very well in third person omniscient. I was never turned around or confused about whose perspective I was in, and there was never an ‘okay, can we get back to the other storyline??’ moment.

I am a very picky person so naturally I was laser focused on everything and the only negative thing I could find was that there were a couple of moments where the CGI looked very clearly like it was done on computer.
