Still entertaining. New elements.
Hubs & I went and had an enjoyable time. New aliens, new story. A couple things wowed us. We went in not expecting alot due to early reviews. We left both expressing a good time. It wasn't as new or flashy as the 1st, but it kept our attention. We felt it blended new characters with the old well. You don't go to this movie for intellectual stimulation but doesn't entertainment & it did that job.

I didn't know much about this film before I saw it but heard critics and fans a like giving great reviews about it. A father and former part of the military police goes in search of his son who has gone AWOL after returning home from Iraq.
This is a great film, with a very good cast giving great performances especially Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron. It touches on quite a few political views about the army and war in Iraq and the effects it can have. A truly moving film based on true events.

Unfortunately awful.
Following the successful 2018 reboot, Halloween Kills picks up with Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) being rushed to the hospital as Michal Myers is found alive within the wreckage of her burnt-down house.

Halloween Kills has very little plot, characters are quickly introduced just to suffer random brutal deaths.
Jamie Lee Curtis is barely in this movie, being confined to a hospital bed.
The choreography for the various kills is bad, in one scene Michael kicks a door to deflect a gun, making a woman shoot herself. Our frightening slasher is fighting like Jason Statham now.

There are zero surprises. Anthony Michael Hall plays Tommy Doyle, the boy from the original movie. But the character has been ruined. He's an angry hick, inciting a riot to kill the wrong man.

Halloween Kills is a brainless sequel, save yourself and skip it.

Fourth entry in the Men in Black series, reuniting Thor: Ragnoraknstars Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth as agents of the MiB organisation.

And, unfortunately - and despite their best efforts - neither actors are able to bring the same sense of fun and camaraderie as in that earlier Thor film, or even as Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones did in the original Men in Black films.

Mainly set in Europe instead of in the United States (hence the 'International' in the title), the plot of this is straightforward enough, with Tess's character of Agent M mostly performing the same role as Will Smiths Agent J did originally.

I don't know what it is about this movie that just left me unsatisfied, but I just did not like this film. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones play an intergalactic crime-fighting duo. It definitely feels like Smith was the token black man in this film and as much as it was seen in the 90s and throughout other decades of film, it doesn't make it any more pleasurable to watch.

This film's plot just could not keep me engaged. I always end up really disappointed when the storyline is so promising and there is so much room to run and a shoddy plot comes out of it and the film or book or tv show, whatever the medium, ends up being lackluster. That's how I felt about this film.

Tommy Lee Jones's character was stiff and unlikeable so by the time the end of the film comes, you don't feel any type of way about how his character arc is resolved. I have a feeling the intention was to feel sad for him but also sad for Jay and it just doesn't happen like that. Will Smith's jokes were not funny and it's clear, once again, that his blackness was what he brought to this film. I find myself having a hard time reconciling the stereotype they put him in and the character he was supposed to play. I'm thinking they're one and the same.

Generally just disappointed in this film. Am I going to watch the next one? Yes. Will I probably regret it? Yes. I guess we'll see.

"""""I actually learned how to play drums in my attic listening to 'Doctor Feelgood,' the Mötley Crüe record,"" Levine said. ""Just listening to it and playing it. I had a karaoke machine that I'd put, it was a really bad idea, but I put it right by my ear in order to get it loud enough, I'd have to crank it all the way."" "I just had these drums, a really crappy drum set,"" he continued. ""I would be listening to it and playing it, almost treating it like a monitor, and I'd have it rigged up so it was blasting in my face and I'd play that whole album and I learned how to play drums. So, thank you Tommy Lee, appreciate it."

"Protecting the earth from the scum of the universe"

The second of the mid-to-late 90s of Will Smit's one-two rapid ascension to movie super stardom (following Independence Day), which sees him recruited by Tommy Lee Jones to join the Men in Black: a top-secret government organisation set up to monitor alien presence on earth.

While we're now up to four entries in the series as a whole following this summer's (2019) by-all-account-disappointing Men in Black: International, it's easy to forget just how well this movie still holds together, alongside some classic exchanges such as:

"Why the big secret? People are smart"
"A person is smart. People are dumb panicky dangerous animals and you know it"

"You do know Elvis is dead, right?"
"No, Elvis is not dead. He just went home"

Ad Astra (Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones) was just awful. More Vauxhall Astra than Interstellar. Fails the Bechdel test and the male equivalent, no one says anything interesting to another human. Not even saved by a surprise monkey attack and some spritely Moon pirates. Looked good in places but was severely lacking in the intelligent sci-fi department, which is a major flaw given the billing. It seems this is getting highly rated because everyone likes its star (and producer) Brad Pitt, and they presume him staring into deep space looking morose and quizzical makes this a profound movie - it doesn't.
A huge let-down, considering the talent involved.

Cheesy But Leaves An Impact
A short order cook on a navy ship has to fight off terrorists that have taken control.

Acting: 6
When I think acting chops, please believe I’m not referring to Steven Seagal. It’s rough watching him spit out lines. The majority of the other actors aren’t really any better save for an underrated performance by Tommy Lee Jones. If you’re looking for quality thespians, look elsewhere.

Beginning: 6

Characters: 7

Cinematography/Visuals: 6
There are some quality shots here, although things are a bit jumbled at times. I do have to give credit to Andrew Davis as I’m sure it was a challenge doing a movie solely below deck of a ship. I definitely wouldn’t want that challenge. Not much to be desired, I appreciated he did the best he could with the little he was given.

Conflict: 10

Entertainment Value: 7

Memorability: 7
Cheesy, but definitely leaves enough of an impact where I would watch it again. It’s a great movie to check out while folding clothes or doing any other mindless task. Steven Seagal definitely leaves behind some fun action moments that make the movie worthwhile.

Pace: 7

Plot: 7
Cheesy? Sure. Original? Absolutely. It sounds ridiculous but I have to give the story credit for trying to branch out and try something new, especially during the early 90’s when martial arts movies were all the rage. It’s not winning any Oscars, but I’ve seen worse stories from movies that have tried harder.

Resolution: 10
Great ending that brings the movie to a nice close. I like that it fits perfectly in line with the rest of the cheesiness of the movie. Great way to wrap things up.

Overall: 73
For what it’s worth, Under Siege doesn’t do anything exceptionally well, but it doesn’t do anything terribly bad either. It’s a fun movie if you have time to kill. Definitely one of my favorite Tommy Lee Jones roles.

Lots of fun
I remember watching this as a child at the cinema when it was first released (I was 11), and absolutely loved it. And to be honest watching it again now, i still think it's a huge amount of fun.

This is like the antidote to Toy Story. Yes there are good toys in this, but the stars of this film are the rather nasty Commando Elite led by Chip Hazard, voiced perfectly by the wonderful Tommy Lee Jones. The idea of toys playing out real life war games against other toys (and humans) makes for such a fun and entertaining film. It's not scary but not entirely child friendly either, and is really quite funny at times. And unusually for a kids film made in the 90s, the script isn't completely terrible or cheesy. The special effects are for the most part fairly decent and the cast too (both voice and real life) are all very good. Considering this is made by Joe Dante who brought us both Gremlins films, it's no surprise really it's such a fun film and yet strangely underrated.
