I'm a little devestated. I've written a paranormal story plan and a lot of this was a lit like it. Back to the drawing board. This is a very very good film, as The Shining was. This could have ended up being a cheese feast but it continuous the iconic scare in new ways through a seperate story. Absolutely brilliant.

Couple of the episodes I think did not need to be there. They were boring and that's put it nicely. (0 more)

This film I did really like but the war between humans and vampires needed to carry on to make it more interesting. And they need a second season soon as the last episodes were so boring I actually cant remember much right now.

The story of this one was both interesting and boring at the same time. It was interesting to see how characters dealt with the main problem and the difficulties they had to face with their choices. And it was boring because not much was happening, small but great fight at the end, and that's it. Was also interesting to see how vampires treated warewolves as allies.

I've no idea whether Kyran or even Sasha could love, at all, but this is not a romance, and it needs to be said.

Ash ( Hive Trilogy book 1)
By Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Are you an Ash?
*Increased stamina
*Lack of appetite
*Anger outbursts
*Insatiable thirst
*Beauty & Strength
*Male
Call the hotline if these symptoms come on suddenly!

Turns out Charlie Bennet was all of those things except the last. Don’t let the name fool you, Charlie was all woman and she wanted nothing to do with the ash … until the day she found out she was one.
It all started when infected bats bit a small group of humans and created what are now called vampires. Then, the male vampires knocked up some female humans and the result was a gorgeous race of all male ash. Superhuman freaks that had looks to kill.
Charlie is the first female ash, aka unicorn of the Hive – the gated compound in Portland that the humans have designated to isolate vampires and ash from society.
Problem? The Hive is full and only a select few will be allowed to live there. To live at all, really. If Charlie wants to earn the right to become a citizen of the Hive, she will have to survive the culling – a series of fights to the death. And guess what? Just because she’s a girl doesn’t mean she’ll get special treatment.
Good thing there’s Ryder, the mysterious lead ash enforcer, who seems to always have her back. But when secrets bubble to the surface, it will take more than one guy to save her.

I really liked this! It was a different take on vampires and their origins and I thought it was so clever. The characters were likeable and you had that will they won’t they attraction between the main characters. If I had one thing that slightly drove me crazy was being told how hot it sexy they were every 4 or so pages yes we get that they are beautiful, sexy and hot guys please stop telling me 😂. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where they take this storyline.

I am Dracula
Dracula- such a classic film, such a excellent film. It is so perfect, its a masterpeice. This film really started "the unviersal monsters franchise", this and "Frankenstien". Without those two films, we would have no "unverisal monsters", we would have no "monster/creature films", i mean we still would but their wouldnt be good/the same. So thanks to this film and frankenstein, we got "the universal monster franchise" and films about "monsters/creatures". Also if it wasnt for "Dracula" and "Nosferatu", we wouldnt have any movies about vampires. So once again thanks to "Dracula" and "Nosferatu" we have movies about vampires.

The plot: The dashing, mysterious Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi), after hypnotizing a British soldier, Renfield (Dwight Frye), into his mindless slave, travels to London and takes up residence in an old castle. Soon Dracula begins to wreak havoc, sucking the blood of young women and turning them into vampires. When he sets his sights on Mina (Helen Chandler), the daughter of a prominent doctor, vampire-hunter Van Helsing (Edward Van Sloan) is enlisted to put a stop to the count's never-ending bloodlust.

And of course, you cant forgot about the amazing and fantasic Bela Lugosi. When you think of Dracula, you think of him. He was so perfect as Dracula.

Like i said before this film is a masterpiece and my second favorite film of "the unverisal monster franchise".

A really good book
This book was actually a good read. I was a bit skeptical when I found out it was a vampire story. However, it was very well done. It did not go over the top with the focus on vampires, it did not totally steer away from the plot like other vampire based books recently. It is not some cheesy teen drama with vampires book. It was a book with a bit of romance in places, a bit of vampire-centricity in others, and a lot of action, and a nice concise story. It did leave some questions hanging which really ruins the immersion, but you can look past them and enjoy the book. The next one looks really cool, and I will be reading that in the future.

Vampires without vampires
The cast of Aliens (I think this movie was directed by James Cameron's former spouse lol) reunites one year later in this stylized vampire flick even though they never mention the "V" word.

A young man falls into an unusual new crowd in his small town. He finds out more about them including their hatred for sunlight. His new friends have a proclivity to bloody violence to which he does not appreciate especially when his family gets involved. His loyalties are tested when events turn violent and he has to decide who's team he's on.

Geeing Bill Paxton and Lance Henrikson together again was just fantastic; however made me miss Bill even more. He steals every scene he is in just like Aliens and is sheer joy to watch.

The film is a unique take on the traditional bloodsucking genre and very entertaining.

What We Do In The Shadows (2014)
What We Do In The Shadows (2014)
2014 | Comedy, Horror
Mockumentary about vampires living in modern-day New Zealand manages to mix darkness, pathos, and a huge amount of silliness with surprisingly effective results. Excitement builds as the premier undead social event of the year approaches, but apart from the everynight realities of vampire existence - finding prey, looking good without a mirror, doing the washing-up - the documentary subjects have other concerns, such as new vampires in their turf, a pack of mild-mannered werewolves, and their various exes.

Takes the horror element just seriously enough not to feel completely frivolous, and there are many references to and spoofs of other bits of vampire lore. Nevertheless, largely powered along by another energetic comic performance from Taika Waititi, although the rest of the ensemble is also good. Polished production and pretty good effects too, given the low budget (that's modern computers for you I guess). Not exactly ground-breaking stuff but consistently amusing.

good enough for me to want to continue with the series.
Independent reviewer for Book Sirens, I was gofted my copy of this book.

This is the first book in the Beyond The Mist series, and as such lays down the ground work, the background into these vampires and how they came to be.

I enjoyed it, I did. It didn't blow me away, but it's left me intrigued enough to want to continue on with the series.

Not least because there are a whole host of characters we meet here who now need their stories. Korinna, especially and Roman, I think, needs a happy ever after. Andrei's brothers too.

Some smexy times, some violence, some darker themes. Vampires who shift! I liked that, it's different.

All in all, a good read, for me, but not a great one.

so, 3 stars, but I will continue with the series.
