Really well written, enjoyed it.
Just wish I had not seen the film prior to reading the book.

A really enjoyable read
Having watched the film of this book, I decided to see how the book differs. Apart from the ending being slightly different, the film version stays true to this book.

All of the characters in the book were flawed, therefore believable. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this book and also the back stories to some of the characters.

I would definitely read this book again, but I will leave some time before doing so, so this story can have the impact that was intended.

I recommend this novel.

What did you think of the setting change? Personally I thought the dreary backdrop of suburban England worked better (i.e. in the book)

Like you, I think the location worked better in the book. I haven't watched the film in a while, so having just read the book, it would be interesting to re-watch this.

Stephen King To The Life
I’m a fan of Stephen King, I also enjoyed the original IT film.

This film though I believe is closer to the book than the original. Doing it in two parts means so much more of the book can be included and it’s been done as dark as the book itself is.

I can’t wait for part two!

Still cried like a baby
I had read the book before I watched the film with my daughter, so I knew what was coming up, the film is quite similar to the book, but seeing it played out instead of using your imagination gives it a whole new dimension The acting was done with great sensitivity and respect to the nature of the film.

Some iffy CGI
I wanted to see this film after I read the book in October. And for a film adaptation, it wasn’t half bad. Sure there were things obviously different from the books and they have set it out differently to the book. But all things considered, I enjoyed watching it. I just felt that for a horror film, it wasn’t that scary- not even the jump scares and Pennywise- he is legit scary in the book. Also, I thought the film would have been better if they kept some elements from the book in the film too, like Maturin. On another plus side, the acting was done well.

A good adaptation of an amazing book
Read the book first! This is a great adaptation, but having some background understanding will allow you to enjoy the film more ?

It does drag, the book is quite slow too and to split it into two films drags it out even more, but the author would not let anyone edit the book down and wanted everything in the film. At least the film did mirror the book unlike other films where they edit it down so much it is so different from the book.

Horrible Film
I loved the book of Ready, Player One. The book is amazing. However, the movie is one big pile of poop. The acting is abysmal. The characters seem to be really dumb in the film. It takes them forever to figure out something simple even though they've had years to figure it out. The casting is horrible too. The characters look nothing like how they are described in the book. The film changed the plot almost completely compared to the book.

My husband and I turned this off after watching the first 30 minutes. We both hated it. It was a waste of half an hour and a waste of money.
