Very rarely do I finish a book and immediately run off to write a review about it, so this should tell you how much I loved this book. As someone who is interested in wrongful convictions, this true story is mind boggling, especially being as the victim and wrongfully convicted become friends in the end. Written in an easy to understand style, this was a book that I could follow because it was not full of legal mumbo jumbo.

I think this book is a must read!

One of the all-time best
I have read a lot of books, but this was by far one of the best ever. This book was nothing short of amazing. It's the kind of book that stays with you - I still revisit it in my mind. I have not stopped telling people about it since I read it... When it first came out!! It's a near-perfect read. And for lovers of nonfiction, this book reads like a remarkable, moving true story.

I recorded this off Film 4, where the description stated it was about a lady that had made a significant invention. I was intrigued and wondered what life-changing, state-of-the-art object she had created. I nearly spat my drink out when it was revealed to be a mop but I was curious to see what happened to Joy and her mop. As you can imagine this is no action and adventure movie but it's a true story and kind of interesting.

"I read this recently — it’s a small and significant book. It’s the autobiographical account of a teenage boy who journeys through the Nazi death camps with his father, desperately clinging to life and each other when humanity has become perversely distorted. It’s almost beyond human and beyond language. When I read it, I wondered how someone would interpret this story if they dug it up in ancient ruins centuries from now. Could it be true? What are we capable of in terms of cruelty and survival?"
