Been into movies since I started buying "highlight extracts" on Super-8 as a kid. Have Unlimited membership for both Cineworld and Odeon as love the "in theatre" experience, but also have over 3000 shiny discs (4K UHDs and Blu-Rays) and Panasonic OLED GZ2000 55" OLED for 4K viewing and Panasonic VT65 65" plasma for 3D Blu-Ray viewing. Oppo 205 and Pioneer UB9000 players are used for viewing movies at home.
I subscribe to far too many movie mags including "Empire", "Total Film" "Film Stories", "FilmHound" and "Sight and Sound". I cancelled my sub to "Little White Lies" because I got fed up the endless bashing of one of my favourite films "Joker". I find it hard to respect (and give money to) a magazine that keeps insisting "Joker" is "a bad film" two years on, especially after all the awards the film has won. Of course it's fine to have a different opinion on a film but if you keep bringing up how bad something is and spewing bile about it, no matter how appropriate the venue or discussion, that's just mentally unhinged obsession and a personal vendetta. For the same reason I stopped following Helen O'Hara from Empire. I mean I think the "Star Wars" films are mostly juvenile crap, but I don't keep banging on about it years later when I've been asked to discuss something entirely different. These "Be Kind" hypocrites could learn a lesson from that. Just saying!
