This is one of the cheapest ways to add streaming apps to your TV. The Roku Streaming stick is powered by a cord that runs from it, to a USB port on your TV. I don't know if it is standard with all of them, but the one I set up for my Grandmother also came with an adapter to plug into an outlet if there is no USB port on your TV.

Roku Ultra is 4K TV compatible, and has an ethernet port for more stable streaming. Of course it has wifi too, and is backward compatible with non-4K TV's.

I had a 1st generation Chromecast and one complaint I had, was that not many programs could properly find and cast to it. Another problem was that if you streamed something like a netflix or youtube movie to it, there was no remote to choose something else after the movie finished. I'm guessing that there must be some sort of remote app for phones now, because they keep making these.
