Ok: A book to movie adaptation question
Do y'all ever avoid the movie adaptation because you didn't want to ruin the book you love? If so, which films have you avoided?
For me, I've never seen The Notebook or The Lovely Bones because I loved those two books so much.

I find that if I read the book first, I hate the film adaptation and vice versa. I hate when important plot points from the books have been left out, or things have been added in, which weren't necessary .The only film adaptations which I enjoyed both the films and the books, were 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Harry Potter.'

Les Misérables

Where there is love, there is hope. An epic new adaptation of Victor Hugo's iconic novel Les Misérables.

Word for word adaptation with some added details. Perfect for light reading. I enjoyed it a lot. Would read again

Sub-Par Adaptation
Though I quite liked the cast in this movie, it was a sub-par adaptation of the James Patterson novel. Important plot points were missing and the characters weren't fleshed out enough, it felt like half a movie. Probably wouldn't bother if I were you...

I’m literally fangirling so hard right now. I watched the original series before I ever read the book, and I love them both so much. Anyone else excited?

Everyone knows about this wonderful King adaptation. Kathy Bates is beyond amazing in one of the best horror performances of all time.

"This is a superb and uncompromising adaptation of George V. Higgins’s bleak masterpiece of low-level criminality—and possibly Robert Mitchum’s finest performance."

Great Adaptation
I have been waiting for this adaptation since I read the books a good few years ago. When it was finally announced, I was buzzing with excitement and for good reason. This film adaptation was pretty well done and felt like my vision of the book came to life. I originally had some doubts about the casting choices made, but those thoughts were immediately put out of my head when I watched the film; the casting choices were perfect and I now can't imagine anyone else playing those roles. Certain scenes did feel a bit rushed and should have been extended as I was left with a feeling of whiplash, but other than that, I was very happy with this YA adaptation.
