Sean Farrell (9 KP) rated And the Mountains Echoed in Books

This is an incredible book. It tells a sweeping epic that manages to be both about love and the history of modern day Afghanistan. Each chapter tells a different story, and yet everything is expertly connected into one overarching narrative. At times it is endearingly sweet and at others heart-wrenchingly sad. I had an incredibly difficult time putting this book down as I had to keep seeing where it would take me next and how it would all tie together. A remarkable achievement and a book I will always remember.

Loved this book. Expertly switches between being suspenseful, funny, moving, and downright scary. Packed with little inside references to other books that somehow only serve to make it feel more special, and I was highly amused by the little trick the author frequently used with chapter titles. The lead is highly likeable, the circumstances she is thrust to a perfect blend of frightening and awe-inspiring, and the villain is easily one of the most memorable in years. Anyone with even a passing interest in true works of horror should not miss this epic book.

My Quick Spit of Fortnite Battle Royale
Fortnite BR is a beautifully made game developed by Epic Games. It is an immersive multiplayer experience in which 100 players compete to be number one. Getting a victory royale is incredibly satisfying, and the satisfaction is intensified knowing that you had a choice to either take the game fast-paced or slow-paced.
The only downsides to the game are the continuous bugs that keep popping up, but don't let that stop you from playing one of the best games of all time!

For such a short book this was pleasant to listen to - I saw the movie ages ago and I honestly remembered nothing of the end of this book - I didn't realize it was a series either - kind of makes me want to read the rest. The psychology around this character and the whole book was epic and Norman is kind of a villain you love in a way - or at least for me - it also kind of makes me want to watch the movie again. A must read I'd say if you've seen movie.

The Dino De Laurentiis version of The Godfather
Not really, but it was released the same year so it felt very similar in parts to the Coppola epic, just with a robustly smaller budget.
Bronson does a great job in his portrayal of Joseph Valachi, a mafia driver turned stool pigeon. He is intense and vulnerable at the same time.
Unfortunately, having been released in 1972, it would have no chance of finding an audience, but watching it now I found it to be very entertaining.

Epic ExtraOrdinary Story
I was so in love with the writing, world building, character development. I thought the plot was super creative and very refreshing to read. I love superheroes and the people who write about them or things related to them seem to have to most amazing skills to bring that world to light and this book was no exception I would highly recommend it for anyone who loves those kind of stories. Also, revenge is a side plot and well I always kind of love revenge stories.

Get Low
From a young age I was more into action adventures than anything, I remember great memories of NFSU2 also many arguments haha, taking in all comers and rarely losing (big head 😁) there was nothing like the feeling that ran through me during the opening, that is until the the game started, stunning graphics, an epic playlist, thrilling race's and a really enjoyable story thrown in.
NFSU2 is without a shadow of a doubt one of my all time favourite games.

The is the end (or is it?!)
Here it is, what the series has been building to. This volume sees Butcher and Homelander move towards conflict, with Vought and The Boys hoping it is avoided/delayed.
Some epic twists in this story, as Homelander's plans to press superheroes' place in society start to unfold.
If you aren't humming the tenpole tudor song every time you pick this book up, there is something very wrong with you.
This should really have ended the story nicely with minimal doubt. However, there was another volume!
