Britt Smith (36 KP) rated The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) in Movies
Jul 27, 2018
Look: If you're going to talk about art and cinema, you're going to have to mention NMB4C. It's simply a fact.
The time and effort that went into the movie, coupled against the beautiful storytelling make Tim Burton's classic film worth the watch. This reviewer has been a long-time fan, and continues to watch it at least 2x times per year. Why? Because it's just that fun. Not to mention that Oingo Boingo's front man (and epic composer) Danny Elfman does the singing voice for Jack Skellington. It's simply got a season run between Halloween and X-mas that make the film utterly enjoyable and fun. It's OOAK, and you'll be hard pressed to disagree.

Britt Smith (36 KP) rated Harvey (1950) in Movies
Jul 23, 2018
For my all time favorite silver screen movie, Harvey is a mix of beautiful comedy mixed with a good helping of heart. The story follows the lovable Elwood P. Dowd and his best friend, Harvey who never makes a physical appearance on screen but is never-the-less always felt. Stewart puts forth a beautiful and lighthearted (but somehow still touching) performance, the the surrounding cast never disappoints as they move through the film adaptation of this Pulitzer Prize-winning play.

Wolfcop is one of those movies that is really, really fun to watch and turns great if you've got a few beers in you (or, if like me, you enjoy a good b-rated movie that doesn't take itself seriously). It has a start that makes you wonder if you made the right choice, but it's outlandish and enjoyable enough to be a fun watch. It's a great take on the usual werewolf story. They've got some really great scenes in there, and the use of practical effects is admirable enough to warrant some serious props. No cheap CGI here, just some good ol' effects.
It was good enough to make me interested in the sequel, which is saying something for b-rated movies.
